Live On Arrival

 Robb Nash
On April 18, 2013 my school was privileged to have Robb Nash come back to our school. He has an amazing life story. When he was a teenager his buddy had just got his licence. They decided to go on a joy ride on slippery roads. They went to pass a car and had a head on collision with a semi. Robb was in the back seat. The hood of the car was torn off and the trunk was pulled off. Robb went flying and his friends jumped out of the car. Robb started a band and had a record deal. In 2010 he ditched the record label and started going to schools to share his story telling kids not to wait for a tragedy to make a difference. 2010-2013 reached directly 150 000 students. He doesn't charge to perform, he gets booked and comes through a sponsor ship. Robb is seriously an inspiration. Robb, Jonny, and Ryan are making a difference with their music because of how they put a meaning behind it. Robb has recieved several suicide notes after a show. It's another way to show that people got his message and want to change!

Chole

Emblem3 Chole
The boys of Emblem3 recently let out their first debuted song Chloe! Even though they didn't win the X-Factor they won many girls hearts. Now they have being touring across the states as they are heading home to Hunington Beach. Drew, Wesley, and Keaton have come a long way from making music in their basements. The song Chloe was released on the morning of April 15. As sad as it was for E3 to be voted of the X-Factor many people are so proud at how far they made it. I personally can't wait for their CD. After being voted off they were offered a joint deal with Syco Music and Columbia Records which they accepted. Since then they have been working on their debut album!

Gold

  Britt Nicole
Britt Nicole is a 28 year old singer from North Carolina. She has 4 different albums released. Her most recent album is called Gold. She is a Christian artist. The reason she wrote this album was for her fans that sent her fan mail such as "I'm struggling, I'm being bullied, I don't feel like I fit in..". Britt always writes what is in her heart. She has a song on her album called Gold the lyrics say, "This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold So hold your head up high, it's your time to shine From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold". Another song by her tells the listeners, "Anytime you feel alone, put on your headphones Love, love's coming through your headphones..." She is always encouraging her fans to never give up. Not only is she a very beautiful girl but a very talented one. She uses her talent to spread the word of God and encourage people when they are upset. Britt Nicole is a very inspiring singer to me. Britt Nicole is one of my role models! (:

20/20 Experience

   Justin Timberlake- The 20/20 Experience
Justin Timberlake is "Bringing Sexy Back"! Justin was born in January 1981 and has been singing professionally since 1998. JT the southern boy recently let out his 20/20 Experience CD after taking a break from making music on March 15, 2013. This is his first CD since 2006. Most people know that he became famous from his involvement in the band 'N SYNC. In 2002 is when Justin had started to go solo. JT's trademark is said to be his short curly hair and dance moves when he is performing. Justin's mom came up with 'N SYNC's name, taking the last letter of each of their names. JustiN, ChriS, JoeY, JasoN, and JC. Most people have heard his newest album because of the hit singles Bringing Sexy Back, Suit & Tie, and Mirrors. The album is mainly based on romance. I don't exactly like JT but I do like the song Mirrors! I think it's awesome how he picked up his career again is still making music.

Allstar Weekend

Allstar Weekend
Many people know the band Allstar Weekend. The band consists of 3 boys. At one time there was 5 but two have dropped in the recent years. Zach Porter (lead singer) started the band when he was in high school with the boys. After graduating they took their music further. Now they have travelled to many places around the world. On 10 tours they travelled with several different bands.  Zach, Cameron, and Michael are constantly goofing off in the studio and while on tour. Allstar Weekend has performed at WeDay Manitoba 2012. All the boys are currently 23 years old and have been in the band since summer of 2008. Allstar Weekend has 2 Cds: Suddenly Yours and All the Way. The boys are from Cali and are also known as A-Dub. I personally love their music because it is so danceable! These boys aren't only "good looking" but have amazing voices!

Rachel Ashley

Rachel Ashley
Rachel Ashley is a 17 year old girl that has set her heart on helping people to become Anti-bullying. Rachel is from Graysville Manitoba, Canada and is one out of 14 in her graduating class in a school in Miami, MB. This past year alone she has been in over 100 gigs. Rachel uses her talent to also send a message about bullying. Her experience of bullying started in grade 5. Since November 2012 she has gone to several schools sharing her story in hopes to end bullying. Rachel and her dad perform together at their gigs. Because of her experiences of bullying she moved schools several times. She calls her Anti-Bullying tour "No Time For That". She is a seriously talented girl that will go far in her country music career. Thanks to the Social Justice team at my school she came and talked/performed for us. She asked for three volunteers, she gave them a piece of paper. She told them to do anything with it except eat it. One kid only jumped on it, otherwise his paper was fine. Rachel told them to say sorry to the paper and they did. It was a serious reminder that as hard as you may try to fix things the hurt is a reminder that will be there forever. Rachel is definitely using her talent for a good purpose.

Just a Canadian Boy

Just a Canadian Boy
So almost everyone knows who Justin Bieber is. And those exact same people and half the world it seems know that he has been getting into trouble lately. But is it teenage heart throb Bieber or is it his look alike Robin Verrecas? It is scary how much Robin looks like JB. He purposely wears clothes that looks like Justin and got the same hair style. Almost everyone knows about the picture with weed. Guys I would like to say that was Robin. One of his recent incidents happened to be that he was late for a concert/interview and his comment about Lindsey Lohan. Anyways, Bieber's acoustic album is absolutely amazing. Justin should clean up his act though. Even if it is Robin in some of those pictures they both should realise the publicity it is getting. The reactions of some people are totally over done. I don't hate Justin it's just that he frustrates me with some of his actions. "The money goes to the brain" someone once told me. Justin Bieber is a good kid deep down but he needs to work on bringing it back out after his long relationship with Selena Gomez. This is just my opinion!

One Direction Vs. The Wanted

   One Direction Vs. The Wanted
So I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of these two British-Irish boy bands. Well are they friends or are they enemies. Many times One Direction has been compared to The Wanted because they are just a few years older and have the same style of music. It also just happens that they have 4 British boys and 1 Irish. The Wanted had started a huge Twitter fight between Louis and Liam, it wound up that Eleanor (Louis' girlfriend) and Danielle (Liam's ex-girlfriend, possibility they are back together) got involved. The boys from The Wanted also wound up with their girlfriends involved. It started with Tom Parker telling Louis to stop mentioning them at their concerts. He then tried to embarrass Louis by adding a link to his failed X-Factor audition, then said he was a cry baby for begging his producers to let him sing on his CD (which isn't entirely true). The Wanted finished off by saying how the boys of One Direction are insincere, arrogant, and over-rated. They went on to say that they have no talent. Since this whole mess happened the twits have been deleted. I personally have to say that honestly all the fame is starting to go to their heads when something like this happens, don't get me wrong I'm a fan of both of these bands. They need to suck it up though. They are all adults and should handle things that way not like a bunch of 5 year olds. Hopefully they will learn a lesson on how to handle things properly and not for the world to see.

TobyMac

  TobyMac
So I know not everyone is a Christian or likes Christian music but this post is going to be on one of my fave Christian artists. You may or may not have heard of TobyMac. His genre is Christian hip-hop, Christian rock, and Christian pop. Anyways he is an amazing singer that always has a good message and meaning to his songs. For example he has a song called Forgiveness (from his Eye On It album), the start of the chorus goes like this, "... cause we all make mistakes sometimes and we all step across that line.." Even though we make mistakes we all deserve forgiveness. It doesn't matter what you've done is basically what he is trying to say. Toby has had many people featured on his cds including his kid Truett "Truedog". Toby recently let out his new album Eye On It and is starting tours in the near future. He will be in Winnipeg at Calvary Temple on May 7 for his Eye On It tour with Jamie Grace staring at 7:00pm. Listening to his music will lift your spirits even if you disagree with his Christianity!

New Blogger

  New Blogger
Almost everyone listens to or makes music. So why not write about some of the good music that is out there? This blog will be about music that I listen to/like and some that I don't that has people out of their seat and dancing.
There is so many varieties of music in the world. Some examples that I like are rock, indie, pop, jazz, classic rock, a Capella, and worship. Kind of a band geek so yea that factors into some of my music choices.
So recently I discovered a band called Before You Exit on You Tube. They do some covers but they also write their own music. Before You Exit has been together for around 5 years. They started off with Connor McDonough (now 19), Riley McDonough (now 17), Braiden Woods (now 19), and Thomas Silvers (now 19). Recently they have added Connor and Riley's brother Toby (15). How they came up with their name Before You Exit was Braiden's mom suggested it. They shorten it to BYE to keep it catchy. The boys wanted their name to mean something. So the meaning of it is: MAKE A DIFFERENCE Before You Exit. These boys have amazing harmonies and are amazing musicians. Seriously check them out!

Another really good group of musicians are TheVamps. They consist of Bradley Simpson (17), Tristan Evans (18), James McVey (18), and Connor Ball (16) all British boys. Right now they only do covers. Not that it's a bad thing. They are really good singers and are really silly in their videos. They all can play guitar but they normally have two people playing guitar, all singing, and a drummer. Most of their covers are of recent songs that are really popular. They have done songs by: One Direction, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift. If you like any of them take a listen!

Until next time!
